The challenges

How many challenges are there?

There are four challenge stages for the year 2010. We welcome and encourage you to join all four stages:

S.T.R.I.P. – Spare Tire Reduction Incentive Program: 1/16/2010 - 3/14/2010

It doesn’t matter whether you call it a “muffin top”, “spare tire”, or just plain “bellyfat”. We’ve all heard that “it” decreases our life expectancy. Join us as we strive to decrease our collective spare tires, increase our life expectancy, and kick off our New Years’ resolutions with much needed help from our friends.

W.O.W – Working on Wellness: 4/10/2010 - 6/5/2010

We’re all busy working, living our lives, and squeezing in time to get, healthy. Join us as we share the tips and tricks that every busy person needs to stay active and healthy!

MOS - Miles of Smiles: 7/10/2010 - 9/11/2010

Help your charity raise funds this summer and improve your fitness at the same time. Register your charity, get a team together and commit to exercise for 8 weeks!

Holiday Health Challenge: 10/30/2010 - 12/18/2010

Join the successful repeat of our annual Holiday Health Challenge (HHC). We lost nearly 500 pounds in 2009 and look forward to meeting/beating that number in 2010!

Each stage is designed to challenge you to improve yourself, reap the benefits of working in teams, and receive a quantifiable return on your wellness investment. We’ll help to keep you motivated and focused through all of With-U’s Stages of Wellness.

Participation

Who can join?

Teams of 4-6 individuals. These teams can comprise your co-workers, church/synagogue members, teachers, workout groups, moms/dads’ groups, friends, neighbors, family or anyone else in your life! Individuals without team associations are also welcome. We will gladly assign you to a team once you are registered.

How do I get started?

What if I’m a trainer and want my clients to sign up?

Trainers can sign up their clients and monitor them online. Please contact us to become an approved provider and earn $$’s while your clients stay focused and consistent with training throughout the year.

How much does it cost?

Registering for all available stages not only gives you a significant discount, but also starts you on the 2010 road with a wellness game plan.

What if I don’t want to lose weight, can I still win?

Yes, you can participate by completing the Plan of Goals (POG’s) assigned each week. These are based on healthy living choices and everyone will benefit from them. Each week that you and your team members complete 80% of the POG’s you’ll be entered into a drawing. The final prizes will be equal dollar amounts for each category.

Teams

How many people should be in a team?

In order to be eligible for prize money, you need to have a team of 4-6 people.

Weigh-ins and tracking results

How do I report my progress?

Every individual participant must log their weight on the website after each weigh-in. We will only use the weight logged online for prizes and drawings. Weight results can be logged in the member's section under Results / Logs. For more information on doing this please see the Quickstart guide or the complete user guide under the Help section.

When and where will the weigh-ins take place?

Weigh-ins will take place every other Saturday at Relax the Back, The Market Place, 13702 Jamboree Rd, Irvine, CA, 92602 between 10am and 1pm.

Logging weigh-in results

Remote weigh in and measurement tracking:

Waist Measurement:

No late weigh in numbers will be accepted.

Do we have to be at the weigh-ins as a group at the same time?

No. You can come at different times. The important thing is that everyone remembers to log their weight online when they get home so that all of your team’s results are visible.

What happens if I can’t make it to the weigh-in in person?

The first and last weigh-ins are mandatory. The remaining weigh-ins are not mandatory; however, teams who participate in all weigh-ins receive an additional entry in the prize drawing.

I don’t live in Orange County and want to participate, how does the weigh in work?

See the remote weigh in options.

Can I email my weight to you instead of recording it myself?

No. If you need help entering your weight or recording your POG’s, please view the quick start guide.

POG's (Plan of Goals)

What is a POG?

A pog is a plan of goals – it’s a weekly goal that is designed to help you make better choices.

What is an example of a POG?

What is a Group POG versus an individual POG?

A Group POG is the POG (goals) that we enter for you each week. An individual POG is a POG that you enter for yourself. If you look at your POGs in the calendar view you will see a column for Type of POG.

If I don't enter or complete individual POGs, how does that affect my team?

It doesn't. For the drawings and prizes we will ONLY be looking at the group POGs that we enter for you every week. You are welcome to also enter your own POGs but those will not be counted for this challenge.

Prizes

What are the prizes?

  • Teams who have completed at least 80% of their POG’s will be entered into a bi-weekly drawing for prizes.
  • There is a prize for those who have come the closest to reaching their healthy weight by the end of the challenge.
  • Teams who have retained the title of “Quality of Life CEO” throughout the whole challenge will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
